NEW MEASURE TO BOOST CONTACT-TRACING

EFFECTIVE October 12, all visitors or returning residents from outside Pangasinan arriving in Dagupan City will be required to register with the city government.

The order was issued by Mayor Brian Lim to further boost the city’s contact tracing and contain the spread of the COVID-19 infection in the city.

Dagupan City has been tagged as the epicenter of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan with 128 recorded active cases as of September 29.

At the checkpoints, persons traveling via private vehicles and public transport units will be required to present IDs, travel authority.

The new requirement will cover Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) from outside Pangasinan and will be required to register online for documentation including their IATF-issued ID.

A QR (Quick Response) code will be issued if registering online through the gopangasinan.ph website before entering the city boundaries which can be shown at boundary checkpoints to facilitate entry.

Quick Response code readers will be placed in every checkpoint, manned by personnel from POSO, AFP, PNP, BFP, CHO, CDRRMO, and the city’s Task Force who will require the documents.

The QR code should be saved in his mobile phone, or printed in a clean, blank paper. This will be shown in a checkpoint located in the city’s boundary.

The new control system is expected to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the city.

Meanwhile, residents from other towns in Pangasinan planning to enter the city will only be required to present IDs proving they are residents of Pangasinan.

Persons entering the city will also be required to have their body temperatures checked. Anyone showing abnormal temperature will be endorsed to the CHO for further assessment. (Ahikam Pasion)
