THE Primary Health Care Facility (PCF) in Sual town located in Barangay Cauayan was temporarily closed effective 6 p.m. on August 29 on order of Mayor Liseldo Calugay after six of its staff tested positive for COVID-19.

Calugay’s E.O. No. 50 cited the need to disinfect and sanitize the facility to protect its other workers and hundreds of people seeking medical help at the facility, and will remain closed until further notice.

The six PCF employees found positive for COVID-19 were among the new nine positive cases reported by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) in the town on August 30.

With 17 active cases as of September 1, Sual registered the highest number of COVID-19 patients being treated in various hospitals in Pangasinan.

Mayor Calugay said that in order to ensure the safety of all employees of the PCF, including patients seeking medical help daily, he deemed it proper to temporarily close the facility for disinfection and sanitation.

He said all health services can be accessed at the Rural Health Unit in Barangay Poblacion for the duration of the closure of the PCF. (Leonardo Micua)
