POLICE operatives arrested a 24-year-old woman operating a dental clinic in Barangay Palamis in Alaminos City in an entrapment operation last Sep 20.

P/Lieutenant Colonel Garie Noel Pascua, Alaminos City police chief, said the suspect, Princess Pascual, who claimed to be a licensed dentist was the subject of numerous complaints by her patients and officials from the Philippine Dental Association – Pangasinan Chapter.

The police launched an entrapment operation at her ‘clinic’ at her residence after one patient reported a botched dental service.

An operative posed as a patient entered the clinic and paid her for a simple procedure. When finally asked to present any certificate or proof that she is a legitimate practicing dentist, Pascual could not present any.

Seized from her were the P1,200 marked money and the clinic’s instruments.

Investigation showed Pascual used to work in a dental clinic in the city as a dental technician before starting her own ‘clinic’, making dentures and braces.

Pascual has been charged for violation of Section 33 of Republic Act 9484 (Dental Act of 2007). Police urged the patients victimized by the suspect to lodge complaints against her. (Ahikam Pasion/Nora Dominguez/ECV)
