Girl, 1, is youngest COVID-19 patient

A one-year-old baby girl is the youngest among the new confirmed cases of COVID-19 that afflicted 14 more Pangasinenses as of the Sept. 24.

The 6:00 p.m. Provincial Health Office’s (PHO) monitoring report on COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan showed that the baby girl is one of seven from Bolinao town contaminated.

The other new cases in Bolinao are aged 6, 18, 21, 28, 32 and 52.

Dagupan City and Malasiqui have two additional cases each and one each in Bautista, Alcala and Tayug towns.

Bolinao Mayor Alfonso Celeste said the six new cases are close contacts of a previous case in Barangay Concordia in their town and a critical zoning in the area and nearby houses a is being implemented from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.

A special quarantine pass is given to one family member only per household that will allow him/her to go out and buy their needs, Celeste said.

Entry of non-residents inside the barangay will be strictly banned during the period of critical zoning, he added.

Celeste also said that the other case involved a locally stranded individual from Barangay Balingasay who came from Pasay City and tested positive of the virus. The patient is under strict home quarantine.

As of Sept. 25 at 9: 00 a.m., Pangasinan has 797 total confirmed COVID-19 cases of which 27 had died and 484 recovered and 286 are currently confined in hospitals and isolation facilities. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
