Detainee commits suicide inside CIDG custodial facility
A DETAINEE at the custodial facility of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Alaminos City committed suicide on Sept. 20.
Fernando Cantong, 60, a resident of Barangay Buenlag, Binmaley, who was accused of incestuous rape and arrested on Sept. 17, reportedly hanged himself inside the custodial facility with the use of a nylon rope tied around his neck.
P/Corporal Arnel Moyano, assigned at the CIDG Alaminos City, discovered the incident at around 11:11 a.m. of Sept. 20.
They immediately brought Cantong to Western Pangasinan District Hospital in this city but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
