Sta. Barbara lists 2nd COVID-19 case

THERE is a second active COVID-19 case recorded in Sta. Barbara last August 17.

According to the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases headed by Mayor Joel de los Santos, latest case is a 66-year-old male from Zone 5 in Barangay Banaoang who tested positive in his RT-PCR conducted at a private hospital in Dagupan City.

The new patient was given the swab test after he suffered fever, cough and weakness in his body and was directed to be quarantined at home.

His close contacts, who were identified, were also advised to undergo similar COVID -19 test and also to observe strict home quarantine.

The compound where the COVID-19 patient resides was locked down and is being monitored by the Barangay Health Emergency Team (BHET).

The first was a 35-year-old male from Barangay Maningding who was confirmed COVID-19 positive by the Chinese General Hospital in Manila that earlier analyzed his specimen taken on August 11.

He is presently confined at the town’s PUI (Persons Under Investigation) facility. (Leonardo Micua)
