BAYAMBANG’S RECOVERY PLAN

TO further boost efforts of Bayambang residents to hasten local economic recovery, the town government is advocating a revolution against poverty under the “new normal”.

This was underscored by Bayambang Mayor Cezar Quiambao in his State of the Municipality Address last Thursday as he lauded the town’s frontliners and those who continue to serve during the pandemic.

He presented the accomplishments of Quiambao-Sabangan administration in the first year of their second administration, and laid the basis of the local government’s recovery plan.

He appealed to Bayambangueños to practice discipline and compassion to eradicate COVID-19 as he stressed the need to focus on health, education and agriculture to strengthen the economy and fight poverty.

A limited number of officials and guests was invited to Quiambao’s SOMA 2020 and were seen observing physical distancing, wearing face masks and face shields.

Meanwhile, a Vertical Pallet Garden Contest among town employees was organized the vacant spaces in front of the municipal hall.

Quiambao, who has been advocating backyard gardening project for food production, said he plans to offer tax incentive to transform vacant lots to be productive. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
