Mangaldan list 6 COVID cases

PUROK II of Barangay Bantayan in Mangaldan was locked down starting August 23 for 14 days, through an executive order signed by Mayor Marilyn Lambino.

This was after the five close contacts of the first COVID-19 case from Barangay Bantayan, a 38-year-old male, tested positive in their Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction swab tests on August 23.

The five are a 59-year-old and a 29-year old female, and a 35-year old, 40-year-old and 34-year-old male.

The Municipal IATF noted that the five who were asymptomatic, but had to be isolated and closely monitored at the Municipal Isolation Facility.

It was learned that the first COVID-19 case from Mangaldan is still confined at the Region I Medical Center in Dagupan City.

With six COVID-19 cases as of August 26, Mangaldan already leads all towns in the province in the number of positive coronavirus cases.

Mayor Lambino’s Executive Order No. 2020 L-040 was approved by the Region 1 IATF on August 24, 2020 through its Resolution No. 69, jointly signed by DILG Regional Director James Fadrilan and DOH Regional Director Valeriano Lopez, IATF Region 1 chair persons and co-chairperson, respectively.

Mangaldan used to be among the only three towns in Pangasinan with not a single COVID-19 case. The other two are Bolinao and Dasol.

Bolinao has already three COVID-19 cases but Dasol remains COVID-free. (Leonardo Micua)
