ZONE 3 of Barangay Macabito in Calasiao town was ordered locked down for 14 days on August 17 after the town registered three new positive cases for COVID-19 in the barangay.

Mayor Arman Bauzon confirmed that the three new cases were close contacts of a confirmed case COVID-19 patient from Zone 3 in Barangay Macabito.

The three are females: an 87-year-old with co-morbidities, and a 20-year-old and a 17-year-old, who were both found symptomatic. They all belong to the same household and compound in Zone 3, Macabito.

All the patients were transported to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City for treatment and isolation.

Mayor Bauzon said 20 persons were traced and identified to have had close contact with the patients and were swabbed for RT-Polymerase Chain Reaction test to determine if they are carriers or recently infected.

He said if any one of them tests positive, the lockdown may have to be expanded.

He called on the town residents not to discriminate, harass or think ill of the COVID-19 patients and their families and instead pray for their healing and fast recovery. (Ahikam Pasion)
