A 58-year-old resident of Sta. Barbara who had a travel history to Canada tested positive of COVID-19 based on a result released by the Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory.

Mayor Joel Delos Santos said in an advisory on July 15 that she is a resident of Barangay Maningding and arrived in the Philippines on July 7.

She took the swab test at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and stayed in a hotel in Manila for her mandatory quarantine.

The report of the Maningding Barangay Health Emergency Response Team to the Municipal Health Officer revealed she has SARS-CoV-2 (causative agent of COVID-19) virus on Wednesday, or a day after she went home.

She was asymptomatic.  (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
