Gun for hire suspect killed in Rosales
THE leader of a gun-for-hire and robbery group operating in Pangasinan was killed in an encounter with the authorities in Barangay Guilig in Rosales town last Thursday, July 9.
P/Colonel Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, said the suspect, idenitfied as Charlie Espanto, was shot and died in a gunfight that ensued between him and operatives of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office when he was accosted.
A 9mm pistol was recovered in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect’s accomplice escaped and manhunt has been launched to track him.
The group of the suspect was responsible behind the robbery and killings in the province and was set to kill another target before the armed encounter happened.
According to Col. Maranan, the suspect was used as a gun-for-hire by prominent personalities and politicians in the province. (Nora Dominguez)
