FOR FRONTLINER’S UNPAID RISK ALLOWANCES

THE Dagupan City government realigned and reverted anew more funds per an ordinance approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) on the direction of the office of Mayor Brian Lim.

Reverted in an ordinance passed by the legislative body June 25 on motion of Councilor Michael Fernandez were P25.5 million sourced from the unappropriated balance from Supplemental Budget No. 2-2020 in the amount of P20.6 million.

The reversion is not for the first project of the Lim administration but to cover mainly payments for the long overdue risk allowances of medical frontliners, namely the barangay health workers who were deployed for the care of patients who tested for COVID-19.

Also reverted were funds appropriated for projects and programs under the 20% development fund for Calendar Year 2019 to be appropriated also under the 20% development fund-continuing balances for CY 2019. All these were appropriated as supplemental budget No. 03 for fiscal year 2020, together with the unappropriated balance of P4.9 million. (Leonardo Micua)
