2 killed in Alcala road mishap

TWO persons died after a delivery truck crashed into a tricycle Monday afternoon in Barangay Kisikis in Alcala town.

P/Staff Sergeant Benjamin Gabuat, Alcala PNP’s investigator, said suspect Harold Gabot, 31 years old, a resident of Barangay Nancamaliran, Urdaneta City was driving a delivery truck on the slippery road brought about by rains Sunday afternoon when he lost control of the wheel.

The truck swerved to the opposite lane and hit a tricycle driven by Danilo Fero, 32 years old, and passenger Joel Angeles, 44 years old, both residents of Barangay Sto. Niño, Sto. Tomas town.

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Fero was declared dead on arrival, while Angeles died while being treated.

Gabot and his unidentified companion sustained minor injuries. They are currently lodged in jail.

Meanwhile, in San Jacinto town, a 17-year-old male named Jimboy Santillan, a resident of Barangay Awai, in San Jacinto, died on the spot after he crashed his motorcycle to a mahogany tree on the shoulder of the road in Barangay Guibe on his way to Barangay Babasit. (Ahikam Pasion)
