ALL 615 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Urdaneta City remain free of COVID-19 infection.

This was confirmed by Urdaneta Jail Supt. Roque Constantino Sison III last Thursday.

He said the “e-dalaw” he introduced allows the detainees to interact with their visitors via video chat with their relatives on scheduled basis from Monday, Wednesday and Friday, free of charge, to avoid face-to-face interaction.

“Thank God we’re still COVID-free,” Sison said.

He said based on the result of their Polymerase Chain Reaction test recently made by the Provincial Health Office during its mass COVID-testing, no one tested positive.

The BJMP Urdaneta has 10 persons with disability and 20 senior citizens.

He said they do regular thermal scanning, disinfection of their dormitories, physical exercise, health check-up, augment the PDLs food ration with the help of concerned citizens who provide relief goods assistance and food packs. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
