TWO men committed suicide separately over two different reasons.

A depressed resident of Barangay Lucao in Dagupan City committed suicide after losing his job.

The victim, identified as Renato Diaz, 53 years old, was found inside the family’s sari-sari store by his daughter, sprawled on the floor, lifeless, his head covered by a plastic bag.

The daughter immediately called for her brothers and rushed their father to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The family admitted that their father had been suffering from depression, worrying about financial problems after losing his job to the COVID-19 pandemic. There was no suicide note.

The police ruled out foul play in the incident.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old male construction worker was also found dead hanging inside his house in Barangay Banzal in Sta. Barbara.

The police identified the victim as Joel Moreno.

He was discovered hanging by his neighbor, who went searching for him because he failed to report for work.

He was rushed to a hospital in nearby town and was declared dead on arrival.

The police said Moreno left a suicide note.

According to P/Major Angelo Camuyot, Sta. Barbara chief of police, Moreno was jilted by his girlfriend and could not bear the pain of losing her. (Ahikam Pasion)
