THE Sta. Maria government placed three of its barangays on total lockdown after a resident tested positive of the COVID-19.

Mayor Julius Ramos said he ordered the lockdown on June 4 in Barangays Paitan, Cauplasan and Samon to contain the spread of the virus.

He said the first COVID-positive case here was identified after a mass testing on June 1 of all frontliners and returning residents. The person had a travel history in Quezon City and will be brought to Pangasinan Provincial Hospital for proper treatment.

Contract-tracing is ongoing, the mayor added. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
