SK’s ‘kariton’ served hot meals amid pandemic
THE Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Dagupan City served hot meals to its constituents through their “kariton” program during the community quarantine brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Joshua Bugayong, SK Federation president, told Laging Handa Network Briefing of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, that the “Kariton Hot Meals” is meant to serve meals to indigent families in the barangays who can ill afford to prepare their own meals during the quarantine period.
He said the project was funded initially the re-aligned SK Federations’ budget for sports activities and he appealed to SK chapters to do the same, to realign their budgets intended for sports activities.
Aside from hot meals served to Dagupeños, SK Federation in Dagupan City also distributed relief goods and disinfection materials as an emergency aid for the people in barangays. (PIA-Pangasinan/EMSA)
