LAX COMPLIANCE OF RULES NOTED

THE San Carlos City government has warned that it will order another lockdown in barangays if residents continue to disregard and violate the safety protocols issued for General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to contain the spread of Covid-19,

City Mayor Mayor Julier Resuello said he note that many residents have been going outside their residence without their issued quarantine identification cards (Q-ID), or not wearing these properly and worse, are becoming arrogant.

He cited one incident wherein a resident berated a law enforcer for simply reminding him to wear his Q-ID before entering the establishment.

“If you will not abide by the rules being imposed, wait for the stricter measures of the local government unit (LGU). We will declare a lockdown in the barangay where a violator resides,” he said.

Resuello said the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) and the police began apprehending residents caught without their Q-IDs outside of their residence whether going to the market or stores to buy basic necessities.

The city government had replaced the “disposable” quarantine passes with Q-IDs, and it is for households to decide who can use the single Q-ID issued per family.

He said if the chosen family representative has to use the Q-ID to go to work, the family must coordinate with the barangay office for a temporary additional Q-ID.

Each of the 86 villages of the city has twice a week market day schedule.

Meanwhile, the city government made the rounds inspecting barbershops to ensure that the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force were being observed. (Jerick Pasiliao)
