CALASIAO’S LONE CASE

THE family and residents of the compound in Barangay Bued in Calasiao where the town’s lone COVID-19 case lives have been placed on strict home quarantine by the Municipal Health Office.

The 43-year old female front liner in Dagupan tested positive together with her 13 co-workers, during a recent mass testing of front liners in Dagupan last week.

She was among the 720 front liners of Dagupan who took the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) test at the Dagupan City Astrodome from May 27 to 31 and was among the 14 who were so far found positive for COVID-19.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Arturo Jesus de Vera said though the person is still under investigation being asymptomatic, she is already in isolation at the Region 1 Medical Center, where 12 other front liners are also confined. Only one of the 14 front liners of Dagupan is confined at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital.

Contact tracing is being continued by the MHO to determine if there were others who had close contact with her.

Calasiao listed 39 Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) or suspects. Of these, 16 have recovered while three died, one was a female, 72 years old. The rest were confirmed negative of the virus.

Because of this development, Mayor Joseph Armand Bauzon called his townmates to observe the health and safety standard and do their share in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. (Leonardo Micua)
