Quality of service is not compromised in new normal – Prov’l Gov’t

CAPITOL NEWS

“HINDI mapipigil ng COVID-19 ang pagsisilbi natin sa ating mga kababayan. Sabi nga ng ating gobernador, huwag nating putulin ang ating magandang serbisyo para sa ating mga kababayan. Services for Pangasinenses remain strong.”

This was stated by Provincial Chief Administrative Officer Irmina Francisco mentioning that Governor Amado I. Espino III is keen on providing quality service to all Pangasinenses as we transition to the “new normal.”

“Lahat ay ginagawa ng ating provincial government upang mapanatiling ligtas ang bawat Pangasinense,” assured Francisco.

Governor Espino has implemented the six-day work week since May 18 under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to accommodate all the clients from the six congressional districts in the province while observing physical distancing. Districts 1, 2, and 3 are scheduled every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday while Districts 4, 5, and 6 are scheduled on every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

“Parehas pa rin ang serbisyo ng aming opisina (Provincial Treasure’s Office). Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang aming transactions kahit kami ay naka-skeletal force,” said Provincial Treasurer Marilou Utanes.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO) has established counters located at the first floor of the Capitol Building to control the influx of clients entering the building.

PGO employee Catherine Malla said, “Since we are in the new normal, ang mga papers ay sa baba tinatanggap. For safety na rin ay hindi kami nag-papaakyat sa taas.”

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) also held its first physical session on Monday, June 1 since the enhance community quarantine (ECQ) period in the province. In the new normal, physical sessions of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will be only held every first Monday of the month while the rest of the SP sessions will be done via teleconference.

All buildings and offices of the provincial government follow the minimum health standards including physical distancing inside the offices, appropriate health protocols, and sanitation procedures.

For easy contact tracing if needed, clients entering any office inside the Capitol have to record their names, address and contact number.

Meanwhile, Provincial Health Officer Anna Maria Teresa De Guzman guarantees that the Provincial Health Office is still continuously conducting health programs.

“Monday to Sunday na rin ang services for PHO para sa mga requests tulad ng bakuna for rabies, services on nutrition, child, and maternal, at TB Program,” said Dr. De Guzman.

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan also held the first flag raising ceremony with some executives and employees of the Provincial Governor’s Office after two and a half months yesterday, June 1.

The flag raising ceremony will adopt the new normal where basic health protocols and physical distancing shall be implemented. In addition, participating employees from the host offices should not exceed 50 persons.

Paraphrasing Governor Espino, Chief Administrative Officer Francisco notes that the Provincial Government will gradually bring back the usual flow of public services in the province. (Paula Jhea Sison)
