Pangasinan’s COVID-19 cases back to 10

THE number of active COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan is back to 10 after a 60-year-old delivery driver of a construction supply store from Barangay Caloocan Norte, Binmaley, a female in Dagupan City and a 21-year-old female from Ballarta, Infanta were confirmed to have tested positive on June 26.

This after 13 COVID-19 patients from San Carlos City, Mangatarem, Binmaley, Mabini, Sual, Alaminos City, and Sta. Maria have recovered separately and discharged from their hospital confinement and home isolation.

The latest case in Dagupan, the second active case in the city, is a 44-year-old female from Bonuan Binloc presently confined at the Region 1 Medical Center. She remains asymptomatic.

Dr. Ophelia Rivera, the COVID-19 focal person in Dagupan, identified the other and latest active case as a female OFW from Barangay Calmay who arrived on June 23 after being quarantined in Manila and tested positive on June 24. She is confined at R1MC.

Another new active COVID-19 case is a 47-year-old female from Barangay Poblacion in Bugallon.

The other five active COVID-19 cases are two from Sual, and one each from Bani, Lingayen, and in Basista.

The 44-year-old policeman from Basista town and assigned with the Israel Embassy remains confined for treatment.

The Provincial Health Office said that as of June 26, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan since the start of the pandemic stood at 86, at least 61 of these were recorded in the province and 25 in Dagupan City.

The total number of recovered patients is 67 against only nine deaths.

Pangasinan also recorded 596 Persons Under Investigation (PUI), at least 482 had recovered and 13 are still confined. There were 101 PUIs who have died.

Persons Under Monitoring registered 124,480 persons, and 115,384 completed their 14-day quarantine. 8,482 are still under quarantine and 634 had incomplete quarantine. (Leonardo Micua)
