CAPITOL NEWS

GOVERNOR Amado I. Espino III held a meeting with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Director Jimmicio Daoaten, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Paulino Lalata and 702nd Infantry Brigade Commander B/Gen. Audrey Pasia to devise proactive community development strategies for the province on June 16.

“Wala namang problema sa Pangasinan pero unahan na natin. We should be one step ahead of time,” said B/Gen. Audrey Pasia mentioning that the national government agencies (NGAs) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan should fuse their actions together through the retooled community support program (RCSP).

B/Gen. Pasia also stated that assessments are needed by all agencies to conduct the projects and trainings that are applicable in a certain community in the province.

Gov. Espino suggested that the Provincial Government of Pangasinan will utilize all the needed resources for the projects and trainings.

Service caravans of the provincial government will also be used to sustain the programs.

Suggested activities for the RCSP include gathering of barangay profiles, organizing the core teams that will focus on RCSP, setting target areas, accessing the development interventions for the target areas, and sustaining the program.

“Dito sa accessing, magkakaroon ng immersion ang mga national agencies, provincial government at municipal government sa mga barangay. Doon sila titira upang makita nila kung ano ang mga kulang sa mga barangay,” DILG PD Paulino Lalata stated.

However, these activities may still be modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The municipal/city and barangay local government units are also required to participate in the programs.

“Let us see to it na ang ating ginagawa serbisyo ay tama doon sa pangangailangan ng tao,” said TESDA PD Jimmicio Daoaten.

The community development plan is in support of the effort of the national government in ending Communist armed conflict as well as to advance the peace process in the country.

It can be noted that Pangasinan is an insurgency-free province. However, the Provincial Government of Pangasinan is steadfast in maintaining the peace in the province by providing the needs of every Pangasinense at the grassroots level.

Also present during the meeting were Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, PDRRMO Chief Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro, Pangasinan PESO Chief Alex Ferrer and Provincial Information Officer Orpheus Velasco. /Paula Jhea Sison
