A policeman assigned in Taguig City who recently went home in Barangay Navatat, Basista tested positive of COVID-19.

Mayor Jolly Resuello said in his public advisory that the 45-year-old policeman, tested negative in his rapid test last month. However, on the day he went home to Basista on June 17 to be with his family and to attend the baptismal party of his nephew, he was informed that one of the Taguig personnel tested positive of COVID-19 so he was ordered to return to Taguig City Police on June 18 so he can take the swab test on June 19.

He traveled back to Basista on June 20 and asked to quarantine himself while awaiting the result of his swab test.

That evening, the Municipal Health Office received the result confirming that he tested positive. He was promptly brought to Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City for treatment and contact tracing was launched. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
