ALAMINOS City has confirmed that there are two COVID-19 cases as of June 4 prompting the local government to place two barangays where they live on total lockdown from June 4 to 15.

A public advisory posted by the Alaminos government on its Facebook page said that a resident of Barangay Bolaney and another in Barangay Polo had been confirmed positive in their confirmatory swab tests. Profiles of the two cases were not provided by the city government.

They are in an isolation facility but still asymptomatic of the virus, the advisory said.

Contract tracing had been done on their close contacts as well as monitoring of their families.

The two COVID cases were earlier tested positive in a rapid testing on May 28. A confirmatory test was done by the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the resident from Barangay Poblacion who also tested positive in an earlier rapid COVID-testing on May 28 was found negative in a confirmatory swab test. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
