PSU-Lingayen raises funds for frontliners

THE Pangasinan State University (PSU)-Lingayen campus recently conducted its own fund raising to help frontliners with their work in barangays.

According to Dra. Liza Quimson, Executive Director, Open University Systems, the fund raising netted P80,000 and were used to purchase personal protective equipment (masks and shields), and various food items

The PPEs and food packs were distributed to forntliners in 32 barangays, police stations, provincial hospitals and Region 1 Medical Center.

At the same time, PSU employees with salary grades 1 to 15 and former PSU employees were given 25 kilos of rice, goods, soap and alcohol.

Up to 850 PSU staff were also given assistance by the PSU leadership. Nine PSU campuses also cooperated in providing assistance to the frontliners in the town where they were located. PSU also continues to provide assistance to those in remote barangays and hot meals are also provided to the frontliners, Dra. Quimson added. (Nora Dominguez)
