Police officer’s family tested negative of Covid-19

THE San Carlos City government breathed a sigh of relief when family members of the police officer assigned in Camp Crame in Quezon City who tested positive of COVID-19, tested negative.

The City Information Office confirmed in a statement that the wife, mother and father of the police officer who hails from Barangay Turac in the city were promptly tested and the results showed they were asymptomatic.

The family completed its 14-day mandatory home quarantine on Apr. 27 and received a certificate of quarantine completion from the City Health Office (CHO).

In the same statement, the city government expressed its gratitude to the provincial government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) for quickly administering the throat swabbing of the family notwithstanding the limited testing kits for COVID-19, in the province.

On April 15, Mayor Julier Resuello, appeared in Facebook live video to confirm that the police officer assigned at the PNP headquarters returned to the city on April 9 to await the result of his swab test that later turned positive.

Meanwhile, the CHO reported that the probable cases in Barangays Capataan, Nelintap and Coliling also tested negative of the virus and the three patients from Barangays Payapa, Tamayo and Calomboyan have already recovered in a health care facility.

However, San Carlos City recorded two incidents of probable deaths including a three-year-old male and a 56-year-old female who both suffered from respiratory illness but until there is no confirmation of their deaths being caused by COVID-19, the city remains to COVID-19  free. (Jerick Pasiliao)
