THE provincial government has concluded the first batch of mass testing with 843 collected throat swab specimen including medical frontliners, law enforcers, mild Persons Under Investigation and High Risk Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) in the sixteen “hotspot areas” (the cities and municipalities) with recorded Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province.

Out of the 843 people tested, 267 were tested negative while only one tested positive. However, the Provincial Government is waiting for the remaining results to be released by The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center – the province’s molecular laboratory partner.

Provincial Health Officer II Anna Ma. Teresa De Guzman said two more batches of the first wave mass testing in the province will be done. “The second wave will complete the coverage of the province,” she said.

Meanwhile, she called for unified action among Pangasinenses while the province is on general community quarantine to avoid second wave of infection and warned that complacency can result in higher risks of contagion.

Isa sa mga pinangangambahan natin na ngayong nasa GCQ na tayo ay magiging kampante tayo sa paglabas sa inyong mga tahanan,” said the De Guzman. (PIO/PJS)
