LONE COVID-19 CASE RECOVERS

THE lockdown in Barangay Poblacion, Laoac was lifted on April 25 after its lone confirmed COVID-19 case turned negative of the virus after her 16-day home quarantine.

Mayor Ricardo Balderas lifted the lockdown at 12:01 a.m. on April 10 after the 33- year-old female health worker who was a positive case on April 9 turned negative on April 25.

She was listed as the 24th COVID-19 case that recovered in Pangasinan. She works in a hospital outside Laoac where she possibly acquired the virus.

The patient opted for home quarantine under the supervision of the Municipal Health Officer.

Samples were collected from her on April 6 because of her exposure to a COVID-19 patient confined in the hospital where she was working and her test results showed she was positive of the virus on April 9.

Immediately, Mayor Balderas ordered the lockdown in the barangay to allow for contact tracing on the persons she met during the period.

All the contacted persons were required to undergo 14-day quarantine and everyone proved negative of the virus as well. (Leonardo Micua)
