SOME 74 persons stranded and billeted in tents in Rosales town along the provincial boundary of San Manuel, Tarlac that were unable to enter the province and return to Metro Manila for the past 3 weeks have been receiving food and medical assistance from various local governments, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and civic organizations.

This update on the status of the 74 persons was given by Rosales’ chief of police, P/Maj. John Corpuz on April 29 in an interview.

Corpuz said doctors and nurses from the municipal and provincial health offices regularly monitor the vital signs of the individuals and so far, no one has been diagnosed with any sickness that needed medical attention, except for a one-month pregnant woman who was brought to the municipal health office for an ultrasound.

He said the LGUs in Metro Manila sent food for their constituents that were stranded.

The San Carlos City government sent a team on Tuesday and provided food packs, sleeping mats, blankets, and mosquito nets.

City information officer Jhuliano Nazareno said 10 of the stranded are residents of San Carlos City. (Jerick Pasiliao)
