De Venecia donates 80 PPEs, 400 goggles to R1MC

TO help stop COVID-19, the office of Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia turned over to the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) on Wednesday (April 1) 80 personal protective equipment (PPEs) and 400 goggles for frontliners’ use.

Dr. Roland Joseph Mejia, R1MC director, received these items and thanked Congressman De Venecia for responding to the pressing needs of frontliners, the medical staff tasked to take care of persons with confirmed cases of COVID-19 and patients under investigation (PUIs) confined at R1MC.

R1MC is one of the end referral hospitals for COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan.

The PPEs and googles costing P500,000 were solicited by Congressman De Venecia from the SM Foundation as his own support for the continuing fight against COVID-19.

Prior to this, De Venecia turned over to R1MC 50 boxes of face masks to be used by its personnel.

The donated equipment is in addition to the face masks, alcohol, collapsible tents for the checkpoints and food packs which the congressman made available to other frontliners in Dagupan, Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto, and Manaoag.

De Venecia vowed to give more support to both medical and police and military frontliners strictly implementing the protocol for the Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine ordered by both President Rodrigo Duterte and Governor Amado Espino III.

In the fourth district, only Dagupan and San Fabian so far registered confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of April 3, the towns of San Jacinto, Mangaldan and Manaoag registered one  COVID-19 case each. (Leonardo Micua)
