THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan commended three Pangasinan cyclists who were among the top finishers in the recently concluded LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2020 Edition, a prestigious road bicycle race in the country, during its regular session on March 9.

Cited in three separate resolutions were Ronald Oranza, a native of Villasis, El Joshua Cariño and Daniel Ven Cariño (both from Mangaldan).

Oranza (Philippine Navy Standard Insurance Team) finished at the 2nd place while Cariño brothers El Joshua and Daniel Ven finished 6th and 8th respectively.

El Joshua, 27 years old, known as “King of the Mountain,” was also with the Philippine Navy Standard Insurance Team while Daniel Ven, 21 years old, hailed as “Best Young Rider,” was with the Go for the Gold Team.

The resolutions were authored by Board Members Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, Nicholi Jan Louie Q. Sison, Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario and Liberato Z. Villegas.

This year’s Ronda Pilipinas, organized by LBC Express, Inc., began in Sorsogon City on February 23 and concluded in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on March 4.

Now on its 10th year, Ronda Pilipinas reverted to an all-Filipino race to inspire more Filipino cyclists particularly, the younger generation. (PIO/SMDG)
