San Carlos City launches disinfection operations

THE San Carlos City government started disinfecting operations of public facilities and buildings in a bid to keep the city COVID-19 free.

City information officer Jhuliano Nazareno said the disinfection operations to be held in 86 barangays were led by the office of Mayor Julier Resuello, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, City Health Office (CHO) and barangay officials.

Targeted for disinfection are the 75 elementary schools, high schools and integrated schools, multi-purpose and barangay halls and the city hall.

The city has a stockpile of 10,000 chlorine tablets, or 100,000 liters of disinfectants and Nazareno admitted these may not be enough to cover all the targeted areas.

Meanwhile, the CHO and the Barangay Health Workers have already identified Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) in the barangays and their compliance to the 14-day self-quarantine at home requirement are being closely monitored. (Jerick Pasiliao)
