Pangasinan on Extreme ECQ till March 31

THE province is no longer simply under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) but as Extreme Enhanced Quarantine (EECQ) from March 23 to 31.

Governor Amado Espino III issued E.O.No. 0015-2020 after receiving the report that two persons: one from Rosales and another from Bayambang, died, while two, both from Malasiqui, are being treated at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in San Carlos City.

The fatality from Rosales was a 68-year-old Filipino-American woman who was first brought to a hospital in Urdaneta City before she was transferred to the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City where she died 24 hours later on March 17.

The Fil-Am died before the results of her throat swab from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RTIM) in Metro Manila could be known.

The fatality from Barangay Bical Norte, Bayambang was a doctor who had a history of travel to the United States. He was brought first to a private hospital in Dagupan City before she was transferred to the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City where he died on March 20.

Meanwhile, the two persons confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 now being treated at PPH are a male and a female.

An intensive contact-tracing on the persons with whom doctor had interacted continues at presstime by the Provincial Health Office, Philippine National Police, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Municipal Health Offices and other agencies.

EO 0015-2010 declared “Pursuant to Resolution No. 11 dated March 12, 2020 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Disease (IATF), and by virtue of the powers vested in me (Espino) by law, effective today March 23, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. up to March 31, 2020 at midnight, the entire Province of Pangasinan is hereby placed on extreme enhanced community quarantine, meaning no one shall be allowed to enter to, and exit from the province.”.

The EO further declared that both the towns of Malasiqui and Bayambang would be placed under EECQ or total lockdown and will end on March 31.

Meanwhile, the municipal government of Urbiztondo town voluntarily opted for total lockdown based on the executive order issued by Urbiztondo Mayor Martin Raul Sison. (Leonardo Micua)
