ALL TRACED CONTRACTS, NO SYMPTOMS

GOOD news! The Pangasinan balikbayan, a Fil-Aussie, who contracted COVID-19 has recovered and all the persons who had close contact with her here tested negative of the virus.

This was announced last Thursday by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Anna De Guzman in a meeting with the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday who advised her to stop the conduct of contact tracing because there were no flu-like symptoms observed within the 14-day quarantine period.

It was decided by the joint PHO teams from the Regional Disease Monitoring Unit of the Department of Health and the Philippine National Police that were tasked to do the contact-tracing.

“The family of the patient has coordinated with us and talked to the governor and informed us that she (patient) is now negative of the virus and already back to work,” De Guzman said.

Meanwhile, De Guzman reminded residents using public transportation to travel to Metro Manila to take necessary precautions to avoid possible infection.

“We advise everyone, especially those travelling to and from Metro Manila to take precautions because most of the patients recorded are from there,” she added.

She also urged the bus terminals in the province to disinfect their buses.

“It is still considered a confined area that needed disinfection and sanitization for the safety of the public,” she said.

The PHO already issued an advisory for all establishments to make thermal scanners and alcohols or sanitizers to be readily available as a precautionary measure. (Leonardo Micua/Jerick Pasiliao/PIO)
