DUE to the acute shortage of construction workers needed to support the boom in the construction industry in the country, DM Consunji Corporation (DMCI), has partnered with the Pangasinan provincial government to train workers for its many ongoing projects in Luzon.

Provincial Employment Service Officer Alex Ferrer said the offer of DMCI, one of the biggest construction companies in the country, is a big boon to Pangasinenses, particularly the unemployed.

Ferrer said DMCI will train workers in masonry, carpentry, and steelworks for 10 days, provide them P300 per day allowance and will employ them to their projects immediately after their training.

Only qualifications for training and employment are: Must be physically fit and 18 to 35 years old, willing to work in any of the projects of DMCI after their training. Workers will be trained initially in Infanta and Sual.

Ferrer called on all towns to assemble their prospective trainees for the initial screening of PESO.

He added that DCMI will also accommodate skilled workers in its pool provided they can present NC III certificate issued by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority.

He said DMCI already conducted job recruitment for skilled workers with the help of PESO and almost all the 56 applicants were taken in. (Leonardo Micua)
