ASINGAN recently opened its Dairy Box where the town’s products made from carabao milk are sold.

Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) Executive Director Arnel del Barrio led the opening with Asingan Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr, Abono partylist Rep. Conrad Estrella III and Sixth District Board member Salvador Perez Jr who represented Gov. Amado Espino III.

Del Barrio said the outlet started as a concept on how to level up the industry four years ago in Nueva Ecija.

“Sometimes carabao production decreases, especially female carabaos, which is more important, but we have a scientific method that helps in our production,” said Perez.

The Dairy Box in this town is the first in Pangasinan and in the country.

Meanwhile, Lopez said he will install an ice cream maker in the Dairy Box as he invited the public for their fiesta celebration on April 12 when carabao’s milk will be one of the ingredients to be used in their kakanen or native products.

Lopez added that the town will also make the largest biko in the Philippines.

Estrella vowed to make the outlet the best and most beautiful branch by providing a budget for it.

“I want this industry to progress so in our last budget hearing, I tried hard to produce P15-million to put up a beautiful building for this Dairy Box,” Estrella said.

The two-story building that will be constructed will have a state-of-the-art- kitchen inside a restaurant to be called “Letty’s Delight Restaurant” in honor of the late senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani from this town who pushed for the dairy industry.
