THE National Bureau of Investigation Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) warned profiteers of taking advantage of the Enhanced Community Quarantine by overpricing products of scarce supplies in the province.

This, after three persons were arrested selling bottles of alcohol online normally with P41.74 (SRP) for as much as P125.

Atty. Rizaldy Jaymalin, NBI-DADO chief, said the operation was in compliance with NBI Director Eric Distor’s instruction to arrest all persons selling far above the suggested retail prices of specific products.

The suspects, all residents of Dagupan City, have been hoarding and selling alcohol inside a printing shop in Perez Boulevard in the city.

Recovered from the suspects were 120 bottles of Green Cross alcohol, packed in two boxes, and various medicines of still undisclosed amount.

The suspects also allegedly bought the boxes of alcohol online, and also sold these above the SRP.

The suspects will be charged for violating RA 7581, or the Price Act, as well as RA 9711, the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009. (Ahikam Pasion)
