DTI’s earmarks P7.5-M for Pangasinan

THE Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI)-Pangasinan is set to deliver Php7.5 million worth of Shared Service Facility projects in Pangasinan.

This was announced by Natalia Dalaten DTI- Pangasinan provincial director, who confirmed that P9.13 million worth of equipment under the SSF projects were given to Alaminos City, Sual, Binmaley, Bayambang and San Fabian towns last year.

Meanwhile Among the proposed facilities this year are P500,000 worth of bamboo craft for Bani government, P800,000 worth of mobile fish grinders for Lingayen; P800,000 worth of sewing and cutting machines for an association in Basista town; and P2 million worth of dryers, blancher, oven, vacuum packaging machines and freezers for an association in Sta. Barbara town.

Dagupan will also get an additional P1 million worth of facilities for fish processing facilities, P1 million worth of cacao processing equipment for a cooperative in Pozorrubio, P900,000 worth of mushroom processors for an association in Natividad town and P500,000 worth of coffee processing facility for a cooperative in San Nicolas town.

Meanwhile, seven towns and Alaminos City are already benefitting from the SSF project for cooperatives, groups, schools and local government units (LGU) in Pangasinan since 2019.

She cited the cooperative in Alaminos City that given a P780,000 facility for processing of engineered bamboo, while the cooperative in Sual town received P845,920 worth of equipment for fish processing.

She added that a cooperative from Binmaley town got a P933,250 worth of bangus (milkfish) processing facility while the Pangasinan State University (PSU) campus in Bayambang town received P1.44 million of equipment for incubating innovation for processed fruits and vegetables and the San Fabian government received P500,000 worth of facility for candle making.

An association of persons with disabilities in Mangatarem town also received tools and equipment worth Php332,000 for native cake and pastries production.

“Dagupan City has yet to receive its P2.8 million blast freezers for bangus processing soon as the fabrication is completed while P1.5 million worth of tools and equipment for food processing worth for PSU Sta. Maria campus will soon be delivered,” she said.  (Helen Martin)
