4th Pangasinan UMAANI Expo, March 17-21

PREPARATIONS are underway for the staging of the 4th Pangasinan UMAANI Expo, the largest and grandest gathering of agriculture and fishery industry stakeholders, on March 17-21 at the Provincial Agriculture Center (PAC) in Tebag, Sta. Barbara.

Provincial Agriculturist Dalisay Moya has convened the members of the committees and technical working groups of the Umaani Expo on February 4 at the farmers’ pavilion located within the PAC compound to jumpstart preparations for the said event.

Umaani is a Pangasinan term which means harvesters to include farmers, fisherfolk, farm workers, and irrigators.

The Umaani expo is a brainchild project of Governor Amado I. Espino III recognizes the sacrifices and invaluable contributions of the farmers and fishermen to sustain the food security of the province.

Events in the five-day activity will include mass graduation of agricultural training participants, Umaani Women’s Agri-Business Day; Agew na Umaaniy Pagey (Rice Farmers Day); Agew na Manag-Ayep (Livestock Raisers’ Day); Agew na Umaanid Tanaman (Corn and High Value Crops, and Organic Agriculture Program Practitioners and Advocates Day); Agew na Umaaniy Sira (Fisherfolk Day); and Umaani Agri-Industrial Expo & Trade Fair.
