THE provincial government has sought assistance from the Department of Health (DOH) for the establishment of a provincial oxygen plant in the province.

In a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the capitol has requested Secretary Francisco T. Duque III for the realization of the oxygen plant project that will provide a convenient, sustainable and cost-effective delivery of oxygen to health facilities.

SP member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, chairman on committee on health, said the facility will benefit 14 government hospitals.

Rosario said a big chunk of budget from the 14 government-run hospitals is spent on purchases of oxygen, citing Pangasinan Provincial Hospital’s 2,100 cylinders of oxygen requirement monthly which is equivalent to almost P2-million expenses on oxygen. (PIO/SMDG)
