LINGAYEN town government has a new municipal administrator.

Retired AFP Major General Roberto G. Sylim assumed the post as the new administrator of the town in a turnover ceremony during the flag raising ceremony on Monday, January 6.

Sylim said he will hold weekly meetings with the heads of each department to discuss the activities of succeeding months and quarterly assessment of the accomplishments and performance of employees.

He said he wants to unburden the mayor of administrative tasks so he can focus on development activities as the town’s chief executive.

Sylim served in the army for 38 years until he retired on June 11, 2008. He was designated Defense and Armed Forces Attaché to the United States and non-resident Defense and Armed Forces Attaché to Canada and Mexico.

He held numerous commanding positions in both the Philippine Army and in the Philippine Air Force and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Stars, Outstanding Achievement Medal, Military Merit Medals, and many more.

Former administrator, Jose Ferrer is now the mayor’s consultant on political affairs. (Melody Valenton)
