Dagupan to ink pact with DCIT for free Wi-Fi
THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Marc Brian Lim to enter into a memorandum of agreement on behalf of the city of Dagupan with the Department of Information and Technology (DICT) for the implementation of the Free Wi-fi for All’ project, a free public service internet network.
Authored by Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo, Resolution No. R-5861 cited DICT’s aim to provide free Wi-fi internet access in public places project across the Philippines to accelerate economic, social and educational opportunities and reduce the digital divide under the National Connectivity program of the government.
The initial pilot projects will be in Bonuan Boquig National High School, Bolosan National School, Barangay Mangin, Tebeng, Salisay, Dagupan City National High School, City Plaza, and the Pugaro National High School. (Leonardo Micua)
