SHOPPERS and thrift buyers have only this week to take advantage of the bargain prices offered at the ‘Baratilyo’ at the city plaza area because it will close on January 10, 2020.

Aguedo Sta. Maria, City Market supervisor, confirmed that the 60-day contract with stall owners will lapse on that day.

‘Baratilyo’ was opened on November 12, 2019 along Galvan Street, as an event for the city fiesta.

“The city ordinance sets the length of contract for these shop owners”, said Sta. Maria. He said the ordinance does not allow an extension.

However, he said ‘Baratilyo’ will return to the city’s streets for the duration of the Bangus Festival in April. (Ahikam Pasion)
