San Carlos kids benefit from PNP project

MORE children in San Carlos City with special needs are looking forward to be listed as beneficiaries of the Mamaliket ya Panangaro tan Serbisyo Patrol Iter na San Carlos City PNP launched by the city police station on Nov. 21.

P/Captain Maria Theresa Meimban, chief of the San Carlos Police Community Relations (PCR) Branch, and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), said  the city’s children aged 10 to 15 years old are the targeted primary beneficiaries of the program.

Meimban anoted that children are always determined to stand their ground despite adversities. “The determination of these children touched us. What we are doing is that we express our desire to value their resolve and fortitude to continue amidst the hardships,” she said.

The program provides school supplies and conducts feeding program until the children have been properly nourished.

“Some of the children were below the ideal weight level suited for their age. As agents of the law, we are also compelled to help them”, Meimban added.

Due to the positive feedback to the program, the San Carlos City PNP, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Garie Noel Pascua, will be extending the program to other children in the city by doing monthly rounds. (Ahikam Pasion)
