THE chairman of Barangay Tumana East in Rosales town, husband of Rosales Mayor Susan Cazareno, was shot dead by unidentified hitmen riding in tandem.

P/Colonel Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, said a special investigation task group (SITG Cazareno) was immediately formed to identify and resolve the shooting of the barangay chairman, 56-year-old Reynaldo Cazareno.

Other than saying that the suspect has been identified, Maranan refused to divulge further details while the investigation continues.

According to P/Major John Corpuz, Rosales police chief, at 12:35 a.m. on December 3, the victim was on his way home from a wake when two suspects riding in tandem shot him. CCTV camera captured the images of the two suspects.

Among the alleged motives being looked into is the victim’s complaint against a project in his barangay filed with the DILG. (Nora Dominguez)
