PHO records 11% increase of dengue cases
CASES of diarrhea in Pangasinan continue to increase.
According to the Provincial Health Office, 42 people have since died from the disease that have increased by 11%, from 7,977 cases in 2018 to 8,853 this year.
Ten towns/cities with high cases of diarrhea listed in PHO watch list are San Carlos City, Mangaldan, Bayambang, Calasiao, Malasiqui, Alaminos City, Lingayen, Sta. Barbara, Binmaley and San Fabian.
Meanwhile, 29 persons have died from leptospirosis in the province from January 1 to November 26.
According to Dra. Cielo Almoite, provincial health officer, leptospirosis cases have risen to 193 and 29 have died from the disease. (Nora Dominguez)
