PhilHealth premium up by 3% next year
THE Philippine Health Insurance Inc. (PhilHealth) will increase its member’s premium rate contribution from 2.75 percent December this year to 3 percent starting January next year.
In a press briefing Tuesday, Madonna Valdez, Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) said the P2,400 basic annual premium rate will be P3,600 in year 2020.
For the direct contributors, whose income is from P10,000 – P60,000, she said, will pay 3 percent of their monthly income starting January next year.
“The premium rate’s contribution will increase gradually every year until 2025 under the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law,” Valdez said. (Helen Martin)
