Lack of funds slow down relocation of electric poles

ABOUT 1,500 electric poles of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative or CENPELCO need to be relocated and only 500 have been moved.

According to Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, general manager of CENPELCO the power poles to be relocated are currently located within the road right of way on the national highway and are undergoing road clearing.

Corpuz said the relocation task could not be accelerated because of the slow release of DPWH funds for the relocation of electric posts.

DPWH has just released 50 million out of the 300 million allocated by DPWH and DOE  for relocatioin of 2,000 posts.

The National Electrification Administration has already questioned DPWH on the slow releases.  (Nora Dominguez)
