JOINT anti-drug operatives arrested a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation and four drug users caught inside the drug den operating inside a subdivision in Barangay Minien West, Sta. Barbara late Monday night.

The operation, conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA-RO1) and the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, initially targeted to arrest Joey Cabico, a high value target and maintainer of the drug den.

PDEA-RO1 Team Leader Retchie Camacho said the drug den was inside a house in the subdivision that was virtually a one-stop shop for illegal drugs.

Arrested inside the drug den were Franki Tamayo, Daniel Dacasin, Mark Jea Chua, and Maureen Salazar, all residents of Sta. Barbara.

Dacasin was already sent to drug rehab due to a previous record of substance abuse.

Camacho said Cabico’s customers reportedly often used his house to consume their purchased supply of shabu.

“We launched the operation after receiving a tip from concerned citizens in the area who said that a drug den exists and that several shady people were going in and out of the said house”, said Camacho.

Authorities recovered four sachets containing shabu, worth P78, 800, a cellphone, assorted drug paraphernalia, the P1000 marked money, and another P1000 boodle money,

The suspects are now in PDEA-RO1 custody, while charges in violation of the Republic Act 9165 are currently being filed against the suspects. (Ahikam Pasion)
