THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed another supplemental budget (No. 5) in the amount of P6,710,000, reverting unspent budgets from various offices and realigning them to fund five projects deemed as priority by the administration of Mayor Brian Lim.

The additional outlay are for training expenses under the City Treasurer’s Office-Market Division, P80,000; procurement of new unit of New Vactron Machine, P2,930,000; procurement of one brand new dump truck for the City Engineering Office, P2,700,000; and for the fabrication of 136 tents for various activities of the city, P1,000,000.

According to Alan Dale Zarate, city administrator, the items were listed in the Supplemental Annual Investment Program (SAIP) No. 5 of the City of Dagupan for calendar year 2019.

Funding for these projects will come from reversion of travelling expenses and office supply expenses under the CTI-Market division; savings under capital outlay, continuing balances of City Engineering Office in earlier appropriation for expenses in moving the brand new back hoe (long arm), P300,000; and in moving barge, P130,000 and others, from savings under the capital outlay continuing balance of City Mayor’s Office from five accounts.

Zarate told the SP they asked for additional P2,000,000 additional outlay for the Vactron because the P19 million allocated for the equipment is not enough.

He said they realigned the three cubic meter dump truck from three to five cubic meters that costs more.

On the other hand, the P80,000 sought for CTO-Market Division will be used to fund training expenses of second batch of market personnel in Baguio. (Leonardo Micua)
